Norfolk Southern Worker Injured in Train Derailment

March 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

A Norfolk Southern Railroad employee was injured on February 13th when two train cars derailed at DeButts Railyard in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mysteriously, the train was not moving according to railroad company representative Susan Terpe. She added that the train was not in a public area.

Terpe said freight products transported through Chattanooga are glass, stone, chemicals, food, pulp, paper, coal, and farm products. She believes the cars were empty.

The injured worker is recovering from his injuries. Terpe said Norfolk Southern Railroad will not release the injured employee’s name due to an internal investigation to “fix the problem.”
