A worker employed by the Norfolk Southern railroad was injured Wednesday in a collision between a locomotive and several rail cars. The accident, which occurred at the DeButts Rail Yard in Chattanooga in the early morning, caused the rail cars to tilt and partially come off the track, during which time the rail worker suffered injuries to an unconfirmed extent.
Captain Rick Boatwright of the Chattanooga Fire Department said that no hazardous materials were involved in the crash and thus there was no danger to area residents.
