Veteran Track Welder Hit and Killed by Train

Simplicio Nino, 58, a veteran track welder for New Jersey Transit, was struck and killed by a passenger train early Sunday morning. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, and the results of the inquiry will be given to the Federal Railroad Administration.

Nino had worked for the railroad for 36 years.
