Union Pacific faces FELA lawsuit

Cecil Lee Petree, a railroad worker, has filed at Federal Employer’s Liability Act lawsuit against his employer after Union Pacific failed to provide him a safe place to work, leading to his injuries. The Federal Employer’s Liability Act (FELA) was created to protect the rights of railroad workers in the event that their employer’s negligence causes them injury.

Petree claims that he injured his back as a result of Union Pacific’s negligence. He states in the lawsuit that Union Pacific was negligent and failed to provide him a safe work place, failed to properly train him, and failed to properly inform him of the dangers involved in his work.
